Poland defeated Turkey 3:1 in the bronze medal match of the U22 Men’s European Championships, which was organised for the first time in history and played from Tuesday to Sunday at the Arena Jaskółka in Tarnów.
The first part of the match started with both teams playing head-to-head. However, the White-Red players were more and more effective. In the second half of the first set, the Turkish team started to have problems with accepting the services of, among others, Karol Urbanowicz. Unfortunately, in the further part of the game, the game was dictated by the visitors. In the end, the Poles managed to reduce the gap to three points. However, the end belonged to Turkey.
The Red and White players quickly learned from the defeat in the third set. Above all, they started to take more risks in the service area. In the middle of this part of the match for the bronze medal, the Polish men’s team managed to score more points than the rivals. The end of this set was fierce. The nervous game was finally won by the Poles.
Set number four started with a head-to-head game. Later, neither of the teams managed to build a safe point lead, but Polish players fought until the end. The end of this part was extremely exciting 22:21. Fans watched it in Arena Jaskółka standing up. White-and-red players kept a cool head until the very end.
