Mikolaj “Miko” Marczyk and co-driver Szymon Gospodarczyk (Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo) won the 60th Barborka Rally in Warsaw, the event that traditionally ends the motorsport season. Eight-time winner Kajetan Kajetanowicz, whose car failed a technical inspection, did not start.
Second place with a loss of 13.7 seconds went to Wojciech Chuchala and third place to Marek Nowak (both Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo) with a loss of 23.5.
Marczyk won five of the six special stages, leading from the start of the event. He took second place only in the third stage, Slomczyn 2, where Chuchala was marginally faster.
Kajetanowicz, whose car was not allowed to start by the judges for safety reasons, did not start the rally. Unofficially, the reason was the lack of documents confirming the verification of the safety cage of the Skoda Fabia.
Kajetanowicz was the main candidate for victory, having triumphed at Barborka eight times in a row in previous years. For Miko, this is his first win at the event.
