Poland’s National Independence Day celebrated on November 11th, is a joyous occasion that strengthens the bonds of unity and commemorates the nation’s hard-fought journey to independence. During a press conference, Minister of Culture Piotr Gliński, in anticipation of the upcoming celebrations, emphasized the importance of this historic day.
In 1918, after 123 years of foreign partitions, Poland finally regained its independence. Minister Gliński acknowledged the resilience and determination of generations of Poles who fought for this freedom. National Independence Day holds a special place in the hearts of the Polish people, serving as a symbol of their greatest victory and a source of immense pride.
The festivities, organized by the “Niepodległa” Office, include well-established events like “Niepodległa do Hymnu,” where people come together to sing the national anthem, and the “Festiwal Niepodległa” held on Krakowskie Przedmieście in Warsaw. These events draw thousands of participants, not only from Warsaw but from all over the country. The festival features music, dance performances, workshops for children, VR films, and various cultural presentations.
Minister Gliński invited everyone to join in these celebrations, as well as local events supported by the Ministry of Culture and the “Niepodległa” Office. He stressed that National Independence Day is a joyous celebration that not only honors the past with respect and remembrance but also serves as a platform for building and uniting the Polish national community for the future.
