On July 4, the Maria Skłodowska-Curie Museum in Warsaw inaugurates an outdoor exhibition and hosts a debate on medicine, commemorating the 90th anniversary of the Polish Nobel laureate’s death.
Curated by Angelika Dłuska, the exhibition “Continuous Thread: Maria Skłodowska-Curie 1867–1934” showcases Skłodowska-Curie’s journey as a pioneering scientist who defied conventions. The outdoor display will be held at the Royal Łazienki Park and will remain open until the end of July.
The debate, focused on medical advancements stemming from Skłodowska-Curie’s discoveries, features experts discussing contemporary oncology treatments and historical perspectives. It will be live-streamed and held at the National Institute of Culture and Rural Heritage.
In honor of Skłodowska-Curie’s humanitarian spirit, a campaign encourages bone marrow donations for blood cancer patients. Volunteers will provide information and register potential donors during the events.
The exhibition opens on July 4 at noon, and the debate follows the same day. Admission is free, and the debate will be streamed online.
