The government spokesman Piotr Müller informed that Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki decided to reschedule the date of snap and by-elections in local governments for June 13.
“The Chief Sanitary Inspector, due to the epidemic situation, issued an opinion indicating the legitimacy of postponing the date of snap and by-elections in local governments. The National Electoral Commission did not raise any objections. Therefore, the Prime Minister decided to reschedule the election date for June 13,” Piotr Müller wrote on Twitter.
The elections were originally scheduled for May 9. Snap local elections for the president of Rzeszów must be held because the incumbent president of the city, Tadeusz Ferenc, resigns in February.
