“Donald Tusk, reading the polls, will begin to attack conservative media even more aggressively. This is already happening,” wrote Janusz Kowalski on social media. According to the politician, the current “number one task” of the prime minister is to destroy TV Republika.
On Wednesday, a poll by United Surveys conducted for Wirtualna Polska was published. It shows that although Tusk’s party remains in the lead, right-wing groupings are gaining in the eyes of Poles. A victory for Civic Platform in the elections would not necessarily mean it would retain power. The results were commented on by MP Janusz Kowalski on social media.
“The state of play on the right”
“The state of play on the right. Another poll: for Law and Justice (PiS) – 138 seats, for Confederation – 66 seats, and for Crown – 39 seats. The analytical conclusion, taken coldly, is simple. The prime minister of a potential right-wing government will be indicated by Confederation. Option no. 2 – part of Law and Justice (PiS) will form a government with Tusk, breaking the Polish Declaration. There is no other option – no potential coalition partner will agree to a prime minister from Law and Justice (PiS)“, he stated.
According to the politician, “the key to the right’s victory over Donald Tusk is building a Senate Pact – 1 constituency : 1 right-wing candidate”.
“The axes of the 2027 campaign will be the economy and the EU budget (together with other solutions imposed on Poland by Brussels),” he assessed.
“Donald Tusk will most likely carry out a maneuver to replace the prime minister two months before the elections, so that the leader of one big pro-EU list becomes Radosław Sikorski – the Civic Platform (KO) candidate for President of Poland in 2030″, forecasts the former Law and Justice (PiS) MP.
Did the polls anger Tusk?
Interestingly, the politician links the current situation with ongoing attacks on TV Republika. Kowalski points out that “Tusk is aware that Karol Nawrocki would not have become President of Poland” without, among other things, the station belonging to the Free Speech Zone media group.
“Therefore, the number one task for Tusk […] is to destroy the largest conservative television station in Poland – TV Republika”, he stressed. As he stated, “institutional attacks on TV Republika will intensify”.
“In general: Tusk, reading the polls, will begin to attack conservative media even more strongly. This is already happening,” he emphasized.
Sakiewicz summoned by an “illegal” prosecutor’s office
On Sunday, TV Republika announced that Zbigniew Ziobro, currently in the United States, would become a new commentator for the station. The politician had traveled there from Hungary, where he had been granted political asylum. A day after the announcement, the president of TV Republika, Tomasz Sakiewicz, was summoned to the prosecutor’s office in a case concerning the former Minister of Justice.
The summons sent to the head of TV Republika clearly states that the prosecutor’s office is calling him “as a witness” in a case against, among others, Zbigniew Ziobro. The head of the National Prosecutor’s Office, prosecutor Dariusz Korneluk, has spoken in the media about “the crime of aiding an offender” and “does not rule out” that it could “turn into some form of charge”.
