The White House is not hiding its satisfaction with Karol Nawrocki’s victory. Donald Trump congratulated the Polish people, stating that they had chosen a leader of common sense, a defender of borders, and an opponent of radical ideology. Meanwhile, there is no contact between Washington and the government of Donald Tusk, whose relations with the Americans were severed after a series of offensive remarks against Trump during the 2024 campaign.
Trump: “Congratulations Poland, You Chose a Winner!”
U.S. President Donald Trump posted a message on the Truth Social platform, commenting on the results of the presidential election in Poland. He referred to a Newsmax headline reporting on the “victory of a Trump ally in Poland, shocking all of Europe.”
“Congratulations Poland, you chose a winner!”
– wrote Trump on the night between Monday and Tuesday.
White House: Nawrocki Represents Reason and Security
“The President is clearly pleased with the outcome of the elections in Poland. He met with Karol Nawrocki—I hope I’m pronouncing that correctly—at the White House and told him he would win because he stands for common sense, supported strong borders in Poland, and backed the end of all radical DEI policies that we’ve seen not just here, but also in Europe and around the world,” – said spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt during Tuesday’s press briefing.
She also noted that Americans see Nawrocki as a leader “who puts the needs of his own country first.”
Tusk? No Relations with the U.S.
Donald Trump’s relationship with the current Polish Prime Minister is entirely different. During the 2024 election campaign, Donald Tusk repeatedly attacked Trump, calling him a “Russian agent” and a “threat to the world,” among other things. His remarks were quoted in liberal American media as an example of a European politician hostile to Trump’s return to power. It was at that time that the doors of the White House were closed to the current government in Warsaw.
USA: A New Alliance, A New Beginning
Spokeswoman Leavitt emphasized that the United States and Poland share a “deep and strong friendship,” and the election of Karol Nawrocki signals that the two countries can once again cooperate based on shared values—security, sovereignty, and opposition to DEI ideology.
Just before the second round of voting, Kristi Noem, head of the Department of Homeland Security and known for her firm stance on border and public order issues, also expressed her support for Nawrocki.
