Mercedes Expands Jawor Plant to Build Electric Vans

Mercedes-Benz Vans has officially begun construction on a new plant for light electric delivery vehicles in Jawor, Lower Silesia. The facility will be developed by transforming and expanding the existing factory that currently produces engines and batteries. Situated in the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone “Invest Park,” the site emphasizes the company’s commitment to green mobility and industrial growth in Europe.

    A Strategic Step Toward Electromobility
The Jawor expansion aligns with Mercedes-Benz Vans’ global strategy of boosting industrial competitiveness and transitioning to electromobility. Starting in 2026, all newly developed medium and large vans will be based on the VAN.EA (Van Electric Architecture) platform. According to Francesco Ciancia, Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans Operations, the modernized production lines will deliver premium-quality electric vans, solidifying Europe’s role in shaping the company’s electric future.

    Major Investment and Job Creation
First announced in December 2022, the investment in Jawor is valued at over €1 billion. By 2027, Mercedes-Benz plans to create approximately 2,500 new jobs, further enhancing Poland’s position as a hub for advanced manufacturing.

With this development, Mercedes-Benz reinforces its commitment to innovation and sustainability while supporting regional economic growth.
