Polish Army to receive state-of-the-art US weapon system

The US State Department has approved a potential $4 billion foreign military sale of the Integrated Battle Command System to Poland for its developing air and missile defence systems.

In the wake of Russia’s invasion of neighbouring Ukraine, Poland is scrambling to acquire high-end defence capabilities. It reached an agreement with the US in 2018 to buy Raytheon Technologies’ Patriot systems, supported by an advanced battle command system that the US Army is still developing.

Poland received a waiver to purchase IBCS because it wanted the capability before it was fielded to US soldiers.
