Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MRiRW) – In a bid to promote Polish cuisine and expand its global presence, Poland’s national pavilion made its mark at the HKTDC Food Expo Pro in Hong Kong. Organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the pavilion showcased an array of premium Polish products, ranging from cereals, fruit juices, and preserves to dairy, poultry, and confectionery.
Noteworthy attendees on the opening day included delegates from retail networks, wholesalers, and industry organizations. The delegation, led by Peter KN Lam, President of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, and Blanka Gołębiowska, Consul and Head of the Consular, Economic, Communication, and Public Diplomacy Department at the Polish Consulate General in Hong Kong, toured the pavilion. Representatives from the Federation of Hong Kong Industries also visited the Polish booth, further enhancing business prospects.
The pavilion facilitated discussions with potential distributors and agents, granting them insight into the diverse offerings of Polish companies. Live culinary demonstrations, a collaborative effort with the Meat Promotion Fund, added an engaging dimension to the pavilion’s appeal.
The Ministry’s participation aimed at not only bolstering the presence of Polish food in the Chinese and global markets but also fostering interest from potential overseas partners in Hong Kong, China, and across Asia.
The HKTDC Food Expo Pro, renowned as one of Asia’s largest food and beverage exhibitions, took place from August 17th to 19th, 2023, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Hong Kong’s strategic location and streamlined customs regulations position it as a gateway to mainland China and a vital link between Europe and Southeast Asia.
