“Today’s economic conference is not only not in opposition to the PiS program; it is in fact, an excellent complement to it. Looking for any kind of conflict here is absurd,” said former prime minister and Law and Justice (PiS) deputy leader Mateusz Morawiecki in Jelenia Góra. He announced the presentation of the report “Power by Poland,” which he plans to unveil in Warsaw on Friday as a strategy for building a strong Polish economy.
Morawiecki is set to present the “Power by Poland” report in Warsaw on Friday. As he announced in the invitation to the presentation, it is his “strategy for building a strong Polish economy.”
“Today’s economic conference is not only not in opposition to the PiS program; it is an excellent complement to it. Searching for any kind of collision here is absurd,”
Morawiecki said on Thursday in Jelenia Góra.
He added that there had been no pressure on him to cancel Friday’s meeting and that it is “compatible with Saturday’s party event in Kraków.” On Saturday, during a party conference in the capital of the Małopolska region, PiS is expected to present its candidate for prime minister.
Asked by journalists whether he knows who that candidate will be, the PiS deputy leader replied that these are “internal party matters.”
“I speak very often with the chairman, Jarosław Kaczyński, about development, the country’s problems, or security; this is the number one topic,”
the former prime minister emphasized.
On Thursday in Jelenia Góra, the PiS deputy leader met with party activists and supporters from the Karkonosze County.
During the meeting, Morawiecki described the current condition of the state and its various sectors as a “major failure.” In his view, there is a “breakdown” in healthcare, education, and public finances.
“This government is increasing Poland’s debt by PLN one billion per day (…). When money is lacking, there is less spending on healthcare, education, or the military,”
the former prime minister argued.
Morawiecki also stated that VAT fraud networks, which he claims to have dismantled, are returning.
“Repairing the damage caused by these incompetents will take us at least two years,”
he added.
Morawiecki also spoke about foreign policy.
“Here, the failure is not visible to the naked eye. The foreign minister and the current prime minister are doing everything to push the United States out of Europe,”
assessed the PiS deputy leader.
