President Nawrocki: My heart beats to a Polish rhythm

In his latest social media post, President Karol Nawrocki stressed that he has a duty to impose the will of the nation on those who, as he put it, “have shut themselves away in a world of political calculations, opinion polls and tribal battles, thereby losing touch with social reality and citizens’ expectations.”

In his post, the president first addressed the issue of relations with the United States. As he wrote, when he argues that Poland’s good relations with the US are strategic and essential for the country’s security, he is first met with laughter, and later with attacks and criticism.

“After a few days, the same people are competing for the prize of being first to build Fort Trump,” Nawrocki stated, referring to the concept of a permanent US military presence in Poland.

He added that when he makes “decisions in line with Poland’s raison d’état regarding Ukraine, which is increasingly crossing the boundaries of good-neighbourly relations, the same scenario repeats itself.”

“There is a scandalous attempt to draw an equivalence between the President of one’s own country and the President of a country that honours genocidal murderers who killed Poles. And again, after a few days, some politicians, as it were, mature and begin to understand their mistake,”

Nawrocki stressed.

“This makes me glad! This is how I understand the role of the President of the Republic of Poland. I am part of the Nation that elected me; my heart beats to a Polish rhythm. I speak with the voice of Polish women and men, and I stand guard over their interests. I am faithful to Poland. That is why I have a duty to impose the will of the Nation on those who do not feel particularly obliged to Polish women and men. On those who have shut themselves away in a world of political calculations, opinion polls, and tribal battles, thereby losing touch with social reality and citizens’ expectations,”

Karol Nawrocki added.

He ended the post with the words: “Long live Poland, long live the Polish people!”
