Kos Island, Greece – A 27-year-old Polish woman named Anastazja Rubińska has gone missing on the Greek island of Kos since June 12th. There has been no contact with Rubińska for several days, prompting concerns about her safety and well-being. The Polish authorities and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MSZ) have been informed about the case, and local Greek media have been extensively covering the incident.
According to reports from Greek media, Rubińska was working on the island at a hotel alongside her boyfriend. On Monday, unlike her partner, she had the day off and decided to spend the evening near the beach. At some point, she called her boyfriend and informed him that someone would give her a ride back to the hotel on a motorcycle because she had been drinking alcohol.
She then sent him her location and requested that he come to pick her up. However, when the man arrived at the designated spot, Rubińska was nowhere to be found. There has been no further phone contact with her since then. The following day, her boyfriend reported her disappearance.
As reported by Greek media, a total of five men, including Pakistanis and Bangladeshis, have been detained in connection with the case. Four of them were released after questioning, while a 32-year-old Bangladeshi citizen remains in custody. During the search, it was discovered that the man had purchased an airline ticket to Italy after Rubińska’s disappearance. He has already been charged.
Yesterday, according to local media, Rubińska’s phone was found. The case of the missing Polish woman has come to the attention of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In a statement sent to Wirtualna Polska, the ministry confirmed that the Consul in Athens is in constant contact with local authorities conducting the search, as well as with the family of the missing person. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that due to data protection and the ongoing investigation, detailed information regarding the case cannot be provided.
Polish police officers are also in contact with the Greek police regarding the matter.
At the time of her disappearance, Anastazja Rubińska was wearing a pink floral dress, a silver backpack, and blue sunglasses.
The search for Anastazja Rubińska continues, and both Polish and Greek authorities are working together to determine her whereabouts. Concerned individuals are urged to provide any relevant information to the appropriate authorities.
Update
On Sunday, the protothema.gr website reported that DNA of the missing 27-year-old Anastazja Rubińska was found in the apartment of a 32-year-old Bangladeshi man. Greek media further state that recordings from neighboring houses show the 32-year-old entering his home with Anastazja. This also implicates a Pakistani roommate of the Bangladeshi man, who denied the allegation that the 32-year-old brought the young Polish woman to the apartment.
A video of the missing 27-year-old has also surfaced online, taken on the day of her disappearance. The video, which lasts less than two minutes, shows Anastazja entering the premises alone, holding a phone, looking around the place, and eventually approaching the counter to read the menu. She occasionally checks her phone.
Body found under tree branches
The Greek authorities have made a distressing discovery concerning the disappearance of Anastazia Rubińska, a 27-year-old hotel worker from Poland, who had been reported missing on the island of Kos earlier this week.
In relation to her disappearance, law enforcement had taken into custody a migrant from Bangladesh.
Tragically, her lifeless body was located about 1 kilometre away from the place of residence of the Bangladeshi, and concealed beneath a pile of tree branches.
