Situation in infectious wards in Poland under control

The Polish Ministry of Health informed today about 356 new cases of coronavirus infection, the majority of which were from the Śląskie Voivodeship. 11 more coronavirus patients died today, all suffering from preexisting conditions. The head of the Ministry, Łukasz Szumowski, announced that the epidemic in the majority of voivodeships is under control, which may lead to the gradual return to normalcy of infectious hospitals in Poland.

“We have succeeded, we have successfully practiced it. When such a situation arises that we will need these infectious hospitals, we can always transform them back to specialistic hospitals. At present, it seems that it is more important for them to return to normal functioning as soon as possible, for patients to be able to undergo diagnostics, preventive examinations, elective operations, all of which have been taken over by other hospitals, because although we have fewer deaths in the first quarter of the first year, by comparison to other years, we do not want to have many long-term effects of freezing health care in Poland”, stated the Polish minister of health, Łukasz Szumowski.
