PGE Group implements the Offshore Program

The Baltic Sea has great potential as a new generation source. The PGE Group (Polska Grupa Energetyczna – Polish Energy Group) has been aware of this for a long time, therefore one of the pillars of the Group’s new strategy will be the construction of offshore wind farms.

The PGE Group’s Offshore program covers the implementation of 3 wind farms in the Baltic Sea with a total capacity of up to 3.5 GW, 2.5 GW of which will be built by 2030.

“The PGE Group’s Offshore Program is a huge investment, but it is not our last word. We are planning further development in this direction in other concession areas, because offshore wind farms will be the driving force behind PGE’s neutrality, which the PGE Group will achieve in 2050,” PGE CEO Wojciech Dąbrowski said on Wednesday.

Dąbrowski emphasized that as the largest energy group in Poland, PGE will develop its experience and competences in the offshore sector, cooperating with the best. Therefore, when negotiating with a strategic partner, PGE counts on support and exchange of knowledge at the technical level, creating a highly specialized staff of employees at PGE to implement further projects in the future on its own.
