Students sing Polish national anthem for Independence Day

Patriotism is the wise love of the motherland, it is the conscientious daily performance of duties, from the smallest to the greatest, Przemysław Czarnek, the Minister of Education and Science, said thanking students and teachers for singing the national anthem together on the eve of Independence Day.

On Tuesday over 16,000  kindergartens, schools and educational institutions across the country took part in the “School to the anthem” campaign and sang together at the symbolic hour 11:11 am (November 11) the Polish anthem of “Mazurek Dąbrowskiego”. Most applications for the initiative came from the following voivodships: Mazowieckie (2219), Śląskie (1875), Małopolskie (1770), Wielkopolskie (1540), Podkarpacie (1157) and Lubelskie (1083).

This year, due to the coronavirus epidemic, singing took place mainly via internet messaging.

The event was also attended by members of the management of the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, who remotely sang the national anthem with the students of Primary School No. 7 named after Adam Mickiewicz with the integration departments in Zamość.

The Minister of Education Przemysław Czarnek pointed out that patriotism is the wise love of the motherland, that is, the diligent performance of all one’s duties, from the smallest, simplest, to the greatest, most difficult, but on a daily basis and at every hour.
