A new strategy for assisting people with disabilities

The Council of Ministers adopted a strategy to support people with disabilities until 2030. “This is the first such comprehensive strategy for people with disabilities,” said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, mentioning eight points where the government wants to help people in need.

During a press conference, the Prime Minister noted that since 2015 there has been an increase of 91 percent in financial support for people with disabilities. He added that the sealed tax system allowed for this.

“We have introduced a supplementary benefit for people unable to live independently, we have introduced a lot of increases related to the special pension or other areas supporting people with disabilities. We have implemented a solidarity fund,” the head of the government mentioned.

“The scale of the challenges is huge, but we want the lives of people with disabilities to be easier,” he said.

Morawiecki also announced the adoption of a strategy to help disabled people for the coming years. He added that “this is the first such comprehensive strategy for people with disabilities.”
