Duda spoke with Kaljulaid about military and energy security

Military and energy security, the situation in Ukraine and Belarus and economic cooperation were among the topics of talks with Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid, said President Andrzej Duda.

As Duda said after the interview with the President of Estonia, who is officially visiting Poland, the conversation concerned “the security of Ukraine and our part of Europe” and “the situation in and around Belarus.”

He recalled that on Monday, on the occasion of the anniversary of the Constitution of May 3, Warsaw visited along with Kaljulaid, the Presidents of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda and of Latvia Egils Levits and the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy, with whom the talks concerned the situation in that country and relations with Russia, especially the recent concentration of Russian troops on the border and the current de-escalation.

“It seems the situation is calming down, but it was undoubtedly a demonstration of the efficiency and strength of the Russian army, which I believe the North Atlantic Treaty Organization should draw conclusions,” he said.

He added that it would be the subject of the so-called the Bucharest Nine (NATO’s eastern flank) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization summit scheduled for June.
