Celebrations of the 171st anniversary of the 1848 Hungarian Uprising

On March 15th, people from ‘Gazeta Polska’ clubs from all around the world gathered in Budapest, Hungary to celebrate the Hungarian National Holiday.

The Uprising, which was the part of Revolution of 1848, began on March 15th, 1848. The Hungarian revolution was supported by Poland, and the leader of the main forces of the Uprising was the Polish General Józef Bem.

“Without Poles, there wouldn’t be a free Hungary and Europe wouldn’t be able to unite. Poles gave us saint John Paul II and the “Solidarity” movement. You changed history. We could break free and regain our nations’ independence. We, Hungarians, bow before you.”  said Viktor Orban, the Prime Minister of Hungary during the celebrations.

It was the seventh time that ‘Gazeta Polska’ has organized this trip, and the second time that Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki became the patron of the event.

“Polish-Hungarian friendship has endured forever. We’ve been defending our freedom and Christianity for centuries. We see many Polish flags during Hungarian National Holidays. And we see that our friendship sees the future. We’re happy that we have such good friends in Hungary. The future is better for Poland and for Hungary.” – Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has said.
