December 21 is the Day of Remembrance for the Fallen and Deceased in Missions and Military Operations Abroad. This day was not chosen by accident. On 21st December 2011, five soldiers from the 20th Bartoszycka Mechanised Brigade died on a mission in Afghanistan.
“Celebrated annually on December 21 Day of Remembrance for the Fallen Soldiers in Military Missions and Operations Abroad is the day when Armed Forces pay tribute to the memory of colleagues (military and civilian) who lost their lives in military missions,” wrote Polish Ministry of National Defence on Twitter.
