During Tuesday’s telephone conversation, the head of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau and the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stressed the need for coordinated actions supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. They confirmed that any Russian aggression against Ukraine will face serious consequences for Russia, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
The Ministry informed that Rau and Blinken conducted a telephone conversation at the request of the American side.
The heads of diplomacy of Poland and the United States – stated in the press release – talked about the current security situation in Europe, including the escalation of the actions of the Russian Federation towards Ukraine, as well as Belarus sustaining a hybrid attack on the border with Poland.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Secretary Blinken repeated the words of US President Joe Biden about the strong reaction of the US and allies in the event of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
Referring to the situation in Ukraine and Belarus, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that “Secretary Blinken underscored the role of close allied cooperation within the OSCE after Poland will take over the Organisation’s chair for one year in January 2022. The interlocutors highlighted the need to perform concerted actions in support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. They also reaffirmed that any further Russian military aggression against Ukraine will have severe consequences for the Kremlin”.
