During the week, parents and caretakers applied for care capital for over 300,000 children, informed the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg. The ministry estimates that this year the benefit will cover a total of about 615,000 children.
The new benefit in the total amount of PLN 12 thousand is granted for the second and each subsequent child from the age of 12 to 35 months. Parents and caretakers can choose for themselves whether they want the benefit to be paid at PLN 500 per month for two years or at PLN 1,000 per month for a year. Most often they decide on the latter option.
The minister informed on Sunday that parents and caretakers had already submitted applications for a benefit for over 300,000 children. According to the estimates of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy, about 615,000 children will be covered by the benefit this year.
“This means that for almost half of the children to be covered by the capital, applications have already been submitted. This is the best proof that the caretakers have dealt with the procedure greatly and that the whole process is very smooth. It is extremely important that parents feel safe and receive the support they expect from the state,” emphasized Minister Marlena Maląg.
