    Nikola Grbić and Stefano Lavarini – new coaches of Polish national volleyball teams

    Serbian Nikola Grbić became the coach of the Polish men’s national volleyball team, and Italian Stefano Lavarini became the coach of the women’s volleyball team – it was announced during Wednesday’s press conference after the meeting of the board of the Polish Volleyball Federation (PZPS).

    The competitions for coaches of senior national teams were announced on October 20, 2021, in connection with the resignation of Jacek Nawrocki – the women’s national team selector and the expiration of the contract of Belgian Vital Heynen, who was the coach of the men’s national team.

     

    Nikola Grbić (born 1973) – is one of the best volleyball players in the world at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, multiple representatives of Serbia. As a player, he was, among others, a bronze medalist at the World Championships, an Olympic champion, and the winner of numerous club laurels. He belongs to the Volleyball Hall of Fame.

     

    Stefano Lavarini (born 1979) is an Italian coach who has worked in South Korea or Brazil in addition to his home country. His achievements include a bronze medal at the Asian Championships (South Korea), the Italian Championship (2021), the Brazilian Championship (2019), and the 2018 World Club Vice-Championship with the Minas Tenis Clube team.
