Iga Świątek lost to Collins [VIDEO]

Iga Świątek will not play in the Australian Open final. The Polish tennis player lost on Thursday to Danielle Collins 4:6, 1:6 in the semifinals of the Grand Slam tournament. The American will play for the final triumph in Melbourne against Ashleigh Barty.

Iga Świątek still has to wait for her first appearance in the Australian Open final. The 20-year-old Pole was stopped by Danielle Collins on Thursday at Rod Laver Arena.

Already in the first game, Collins broke the Polish player’s serve and after a while, the Florida-born player led 2:0. The Pole had to work hard for a victory in her service games and only managed to do it on her third try. However, the rival was still in a comfortable position and the score was 4:1.

Danielle Collins (USA, WTA 30) – Iga Świątek (Poland, WTA 9) 6:4, 6:1
