Polish national football team captain Robert Lewandowski is on the list of nominees for the prestigious Laureus World Sports Award in the “Sportsman of the Year” category.
The 2022 Nominees reflect the world’s greatest sporting achievements of the last year. Selected by a panel of the world’s top sports media, the Nominees represent the world’s best across 7 categories.
They were first handed out in 2000 in Monaco.
This year the nominees for Laureus World Sportsman Award are:
- Caeleb Dressel (the USA, swimming),
- Eliud Kipchoge (Kenya, athletics)
- Max Verstappen (the Netherlands, motor racing),
- Novak Djokovic (Serbia, tennis),
- Robert Lewandowski (Poland, football),
- Tom Brandy (the USA, American football).
The results will be announced in April, traditionally at a gala in Monaco.
