The authorities of the Republic of Poland, after consultations with the President and the Government of the Republic of Poland, are prepared to transfer all their MIG-29 aircraft immediately and free of charge to the Rammstein base and to make them available to the Government of the United States of America, according to the statement of Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau.
The announcement published on the website of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs also states:
“Poland calls on the United States of America to provide it with second-hand aircraft with comparable operating capacity”
Poland was prepared to lay down immediately the conditions for the purchase of aircraft. The Polish government is also asking other NATO member states that own MIG-29 aircraft to take similar measures.
