The value of art and antiques sales in Poland increased by 41.3 percent year on year to PLN 591.2 million (EUR 127 million) in 2021, according to the country’s statistical office GUS.
Last year, traditional auctions of art and antiques recorded the highest turnover of PLN 381.9 million (EUR 82 million), 43.2-percent growth against 2020, GUS said.
Paintings were most sought after in 2021 and brought in PLN 468.5 million (EUR 100 million), which constituted 79.3 percent of the total sales on the art and antiques market and a 34.7-percent increase against the previous year.
