Drift Masters European Championship in Moto Arena, Łódź, Poland

Drifting is a driving style in which the driver uses the throttle, brakes, clutch, gear shifting and steering input to keep the car in a state of oversteer while maneuvering from turn to turn. Drift Masters European Championship is Europe’s definitive professional drift series. With Europe’s highest-profile events and a grid of champions from all across the globe, this is the championship drift fans have awaited for over 10 years! The series began in Ireland. The next competitions will be held successively in Austria, Sweden, Latvia, Germany and Poland. The start list includes 57 names from 23 countries. Poland in the 2022 season will be represented by: Piotr Więcek, Adam Zalewski, Paweł Borkowski, Jakub Przygoński, Paweł Korpuliński, Mikołaj Zakrzewski, Jakub Król and Sebastian Szymański.

Since its inception in 2014, the Drift Masters European Championship (DMEC) has evolved from humble beginnings of a 3-round series on a small custom-built circuit to what was is now recognized as the greatest drift championship on the continent with alliances across the globe. Year on year growth has not only seen driver numbers increase but also spectator figures, in attendance and online. We expanded the numbers of events to five in 2015, on to a constant six from 2016- 2019. The pesky COVID-19 got in the way meaning that in 2020 there was just 1 DMEC event, with us then managing 2 double-header weekends in 2021. In 2022 though, we’re back on track with a full 6-event calendar taking place across 6 different countries.

For the season finale, the race will be heading to the Moto Arena in Łódź, where a custom-built circuit will be constructed to make sure the 2022 title fight goes down to the absolute wire. With our previous 5 rounds already pushing our drivers and their machinery to near breaking-point, our season finale will prove that to become a champion, one driver must push harder than they ever though possible to have their name engraved on the Drift Masters European Championship trophy.

Polish fans can expect the best results from the current DMEC champion – Piotr Więcek. In the general classification for 2021 Więcek gained a huge advantage over Estonian Oliver Randalu and Irish Jack Shanahan. Thanks to the considerable points achieved by the Polish triumphant DMEC, Poland turned out to be the best in the Nations Cup classification.
