Mateusz Morawiecki, the Polish prime minister, declared that the goal of Poland is to become a hub of energy and a guarantor of energy security in Central Europe.
Prime Minister Morawiecki attended a meeting on Wednesday in Warsaw discussing Polish-Ukrainian collaboration in developing a secure energy system. Government officials and major energy companies from both countries were present.
Prime Minister Morawiecki stated that the strategy of the Polish government focuses on the existing interconnectors and gas pipelines, as well as the nation’s commitment to developing advanced nuclear energy in the future.
He believes that the plan could make Poland a supplier of energy assurance in the area, helping it to increase its political standing and status in the entirety of Central Europe.
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki stated that Poland has put money into a facility which floats and is able to receive, store, and convert liquefied natural gas (LNG) to gas. Additionally, they are increasing the capacity of the crude oil handling station at Naftoport in Gdansk, which is located on the Baltic Sea.
He further mentioned that Poland and the Czech Republic are intending to resume their joint effort of constructing the Stork II gas interconnector and other forms of energy connections between the two nations.
Morawiecki believes that working with Ukraine and other nearby nations concerning energy is in Poland’s best interest.
