The Largest Waterfall in the Polish Tatras
Siklawa, also known as Wielka Siklawa or historically Siklawa Woda, is the largest and most impressive waterfall in Poland. Located in the High Tatras, Siklawa is a highlight of any trip to these majestic mountains. The waterfall is part of the Roztoka stream, cascading from the Stawiarska Wall, which separates the Roztoka Valley from the Valley of Five Polish Ponds.
A Stunning Natural Phenomenon
On clear days, visitors can witness a charming mist around the waterfall that shimmers in different colors, attracting artists, especially painters and poets, since the 19th century. Many artworks depict the distinctive Siklawa rainbow. The surrounding area is breathtaking, with high peaks, green hills, and sunlit mountain lakes creating a fairy-tale-like landscape.

Close to Siklawa is the PTTK mountain hut in the Valley of Five Ponds (1670 m above sea level), the highest in the Polish mountains. The valley is considered the most beautiful in the Tatras. From here, hikers can venture to Kozi Wierch (2291 m), the highest peak in Poland not on the border, or Szpiglasowy Wierch, offering fantastic views of the Polish and Slovak mountains.
