The 60th Touring Regatta has set sail in Trzebież with 77 yachts and hundreds of participants. Over the course of nine days, this event is more about enjoying the journey than racing. With around 400 participants, the atmosphere is lively, with some crews singing their favorite tunes from dawn until dusk.
Family and Pets Join the Adventure
The regatta isn’t just for sailors; it’s a family-friendly event, and even pets join in. Rudi, a seasoned sailing dog, is on deck for his third regatta. As the weather varies, he either enjoys the open deck or finds comfort below, according to Aleksandra Raubo.
As the oldest regatta event in Poland, the Touring Regatta has transformed marinas in West Pomerania while maintaining its cheerful atmosphere. “These are the happiest regattas in Poland,” says Olgierd Geblewicz, Marshal of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship.
Shanty Concert to Conclude the Regatta
The regatta will end with a special concert on July 27 at 8:00 PM. Featuring popular sea shanty bands “Ryczące dwudziestki” and “Cztery Refy,” the event will honor the sea songs of Captain Andrzej Mendygrał. Admission is free, promising a musical celebration of maritime traditions.
