Eight Polish universities rank among the top 1000 globally in the 2024 Shanghai Ranking, with Jagiellonian University leading in Poland.
Eight Polish universities have been ranked among the top 1000 globally in the prestigious Shanghai Ranking (ARWU). Leading the Polish representation are Jagiellonian University and the University of Warsaw, both placed within the 401-500 range.
Harvard Tops the List Again
For the 22nd consecutive year, Harvard University has been named the best university in the world. The ranking is dominated by U.S. institutions, with eight out of the top ten spots held by American universities. Stanford and MIT follow Harvard, securing second and third places, respectively. The top European universities include the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford.
Diverse Global Representation
In addition to the top-ranked Polish universities, others such as Gdańsk University of Technology and Adam Mickiewicz University are also featured, demonstrating Poland’s growing academic reputation. This year’s ranking includes 32 new entrants, with China, the United States, and the United Kingdom having the highest number of listed institutions.
