Will the Pole reach for the Ballon d’Or?

Robert Lewandowski impresses with his skills even during training, and fans wonder if the Pole will reach for the Ballon d’Or in the prestigious France Football poll.

Never before in history has a Pole won the France Football poll. When last year Robert Lewandowski impressed with his form and fulfilled his childhood dreams by winning the Champions League, it seemed that the Ballon d’Or for the captain of the White and Red team was certain. Unfortunately, the French then decided to cancel the entire event due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

This year, however, the Ballon d’Or gala will go ahead as planned and Lewandowski is still in sensational form. Voting for the world’s best footballer ended last Sunday. The results will not be announced until November 29 during a ceremony at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris. According to unofficial information, the Pole is among the favourites to win – together with Lionel Messi and Karim Benzema.

“Winning the Ballon d’Or would fulfil a dream. I realize how hard it is to win this trophy. I don’t come from a country with huge football history, but I am nominated and maybe I have a chance of winning,” Lewandowski said in an interview with the official Bundesliga portal.
