Iga Świętek entered the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome with a 6:3, 6:0 win over Elena-Gabriela Ruse. The Polish tennis player, who had defended her title in Italy last year, qualified for the 1/8 final against Viktoria Azarenko.
The top of the world rankings of tennis players only in the first set experienced slight turbulence. The Romanian managed to break the pass of Iga Świątek twice, but the victory of the Polish was not in danger for a moment.
