Blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. President Trump: Many Countries Told Me They Are on the Way
Numerous countries have informed the United States that they will help unblock the Strait of Hormuz, President Donald Trump said.
During a press conference at the White House, U.S. President Donald Trump responded to questions about the possible participation of other allied countries in the operation currently being carried out by the United States and Israel.
As he noted, there are countries that are not willing to join his initiative aimed at ensuring the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
“Many countries told me they are on the way. Some are very enthusiastic… and others are not,” Trump said.
The U.S. president emphasized that some states have already dispatched their vessels, although the transit to the Middle East will take some time.
He refused to name the countries that will assist the United States, though he suggested that France and the United Kingdom could be among them.
He also reminded that among the skeptics are countries that the United States has been helping for many years. As he noted, securing the Strait of Hormuz would be more beneficial for other countries than for the United States itself, which does not use this route to import crude oil.
“The level of enthusiasm matters to me. We strongly encourage other countries to get involved in our initiative and to engage quickly and with full enthusiasm,” Trump said.
“I’m not trying to pressure other countries too much because I don’t need them. We have by far the strongest military in the world. We don’t need them, but it’s interesting. In some cases, I do it because I want to see how they react. For years I’ve been saying that if we ever need them, they won’t be there,” the U.S. president added.

What If Poland Fails to Contract the Borrowed Billions in Time? Bryłka on TV Republika Warns of the SAFE Trap
“The resolution shows that the government did not need this bill in the Sejm. It needed it solely to polarize society. To push the narrative that some people supposedly want security, while the rest are fools and blockheads,” Confederation MEP Anna Bryłka said on TV Republika. She also warned about the key deadline of May 30, after which the rules governing SAFE spending would change completely.
President Karol Nawrocki decided to veto the law implementing the EU’s SAFE defence loan programme. SAFE is an EU mechanism for financing European defence, from which Poland is expected to borrow around €44 billion.
According to Anna Bryłka, the absence of the law will not halt the implementation of the SAFE mechanism.
“The resolution shows that the government did not need this bill in the Sejm. It needed it solely to polarize society. To push the narrative that some people supposedly want security, while the rest are fools and blockheads,” she said on TV Republika.
The Confederation MEP said she was pleased that an intense public debate had finally emerged in Poland:
“Poles have seen that this is yet another massive EU debt. Poland will be repaying it for 45 years. Poland will also have to pay enormous interest.”
“SAFE was adopted by the Council of the European Union in May last year. Back then, the European Parliament challenged the regulation before the Court of Justice of the European Union, because the European Commission had used the wrong legal basis. We are still waiting for the ruling,” she recalled.
Asked whether taking out the loan would be legal, she replied:
“There will probably be experts and legal opinions claiming that it is legal. In my view, everything here has been illegal from start to finish. This is a major obligation. Any responsible government, before submitting such an application, would have come to the Sejm several months earlier. That is when we needed this debate.”
In Bryłka’s view, the greatest danger in the SAFE regulation lies in “eligibility requirements and the transfer of competences to the European Union in financial matters, namely borrowing on capital markets on behalf of member states by the European Commission, but also in the transfer of competences in defence policy.”
“It is the European Commission that assesses the application, it is the decision of the Council of the European Union that approves that application, it is the European Commission that decides on the disbursement, and it is the European Commission that decides what the money ultimately goes toward,” she listed.
Explaining the eligibility rules written into the regulation, she warned:
“The idea behind the SAFE regulation is to strengthen the European defence industry. It is obvious that some countries have stronger defence industries and others have weaker ones. Joint procurement may prove risky. At least two countries must agree on specific purchases. There is an exception for individual procurement, but the contract must be concluded by the end of May.”
“I understand that the Polish government intends to invest most of this money through individual procurement. We all know what negotiating contracts for such large and highly detailed orders looks like. In my view, it is impossible for us to conclude those contracts independently by the end of May. What if we fail to sign those contracts? After May 30, will we find a second country willing to make the same purchase with us from our defence industry? I have very serious doubts,” she concluded.

Police Respond to Niezalezna.pl Findings! Authorities Take Action Over Ewa P., Author of Shocking Posts
Following today’s publication by Niezalezna.pl about scandalous posts calling for murder by a user on the X platform operating under the pseudonym “Ewa Płotka,” authorities have stepped in. The Niezalezna.pl portal has received an official response from the National Police Headquarters. Materials collected by the Central Cybercrime Bureau (CBZC) will soon be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.
Earlier this morning, our portal reported on disturbing online activity by a supporter of the current governing coalition who used the X platform (formerly Twitter) account Ewa P. (@EwaOtka). For a long time, the woman allegedly posted messages online in which she openly called for the killing of specific individuals—primarily right-wing politicians and journalists.
Among the scandalous comments published by Ewa P. were, among others, death wishes directed at Janusz Korwin-Mikke (“Kill him? That’s not enough. First cut out his tongue, chop him up, salt and pepper him, and then burn him alive…”), Zbigniew Ziobro (“kill Ziobro!!”), Agnieszka Siewiereniuk-Maciorowska, Jadwiga Emilewicz, and Mateusz Morawiecki (“This old man from hell must be killed. As soon as possible”). The woman also participated in a discussion concerning Polish President Karol Nawrocki, where—responding to a comment saying “We need Smolensk 2.0”—she suggested that “a very good sniper” would do the job.
Before noon, a journalist from Niezalezna.pl sent official questions to the National Police Headquarters, asking, among other things, whether the police had received reports regarding the matter and whether they intended to take action based on the analysis of threats posted by the online user.
In the afternoon, the portal received an official response from the Press and Information Department of the Social Communication Office at the National Police Headquarters. According to the statement, officers combating cybercrime have already taken up the case, and the matter will ultimately be referred to the prosecutor’s office.
“I kindly inform you that the Central Cybercrime Bureau is conducting activities regarding the content published on a social media account on the X platform . After the appropriate materials are collected, they will be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for legal and criminal assessment and for further decisions,” Lucyna Rekowska, Acting Head of the Department, told Niezalezna.pl.
It should be recalled that shortly after users of the X platform drew attention to Ewa P.’s drastic posts and began notifying law enforcement authorities, the author deleted her account. However, the response of the National Police Headquarters and the actions taken by the CBZC confirm that deleting a profile does not guarantee anonymity when calls for murder and criminal threats are involved.

Czarzasty “Freezes” Poland’s SEJF 0% Plan. Government Official Says He Holds a Grudge
“When it comes to the presidential bill itself, I must admit that I hold a grudge against Sejm Speaker Czarzasty for not allowing the Sejm to consider this bill under an extraordinary procedure. The security of Poles is not a moment when solutions can be blocked or postponed for political reasons,” assessed Marek Krawczyk, Deputy Minister of Culture and National Heritage, speaking on Republika TV.
On Thursday, President Karol Nawrocki announced his decision to veto the law concerning the EU SAFE defense loan. The entire government camp reacted to the president’s veto. Donald Tusk convened an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers, during which the government effectively adopted a resolution regarding SAFE. The Minister of Finance Andrzej Domański and the Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz were authorized to sign the relevant agreements.
Both the president’s circle and the opposition warn that implementing the SAFE program through a resolution of the Council of Ministers would not be lawful. There are many indications that Donald Tusk’s cabinet does not intend to stop.
At the same time, a few days ago a presidential bill concerning the Polish SEJF 0% program was submitted to the Sejm. The Speaker of the chamber, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, announced that it would not be processed by parliament.
“We will not proceed with the bill submitted by the president until the process related to the law that was sent to the president is completed. Why? Because the president must take responsibility for his decisions,” Czarzasty said before the most recent three-day sitting of the Sejm.
“I hold a grudge against Czarzasty”
It turns out that some members of the governing camp disagree with the Speaker’s decision. Marek Krawczyk, Deputy Minister of Culture and National Heritage, appeared today on the program Wysokie Napięcie on Republika TV. In a conversation with Miłosz Kłeczek, he admitted that although he is not fully convinced by the president’s proposal for the Polish SEJF 0% program, he nevertheless “holds a grudge against Czarzasty.”
“When there is a fire burning beyond our eastern border, this is not the time for hesitation. This is the moment to reach for every possible form of support. Funds under the SAFE program would be exactly such support for the Polish Armed Forces. We can discuss the terms — whether they are better or worse. But right now there is a fire; we need a fire extinguisher, we have to put it out. The proposal by President Nawrocki today is not very specific, and we do not know when it could be implemented,” he said at the beginning.
He later added:
“When it comes to the presidential bill itself, I must admit that I hold a grudge against Sejm Speaker Czarzasty for not allowing the Sejm to consider it under an extraordinary procedure. The security of Poles is not a moment when solutions can be blocked or postponed for political reasons. I would like the presidential bill to reach the Sejm so that MPs can discuss it. In my opinion it contains many ambiguities, but the Sejm is the place where such matters should be debated. It was a mistake that Sejm Speaker Czarzasty did not refer the bill for parliamentary proceedings.”
When asked whether the presidential proposal would have been processed if Szymon Hołownia were currently the Speaker of the Sejm, Krawczyk replied:
“I must admit that I have read the draft. I have many reservations and doubts about it. However, the Sejm is the place where it could be discussed and where appropriate decisions could be made. Freezing it — or what Sejm Speaker Czarzasty calls a ‘speaker’s veto’ — is not a good solution here. The situation is dramatically urgent. We need a solution. We need SAFE, and we need other possibilities if we are able to create them. The needs of the Armed Forces are what they are. We must arm ourselves dramatically quickly.”

Tusk Is Plugging the Hole
Why have fuel prices in Poland risen so sharply? Donald Tusk said that “it’s not that Donald who is to blame.” The obvious suggestion is that he meant the war in Iran, and that it was Donald Trump who made the decision to launch the attack.
Indeed, within several dozen hours after the strike, oil prices on global exchanges almost doubled. However, such a large increase lasted only a very short time. Trump’s announcement that he would release strategic reserves caused prices on the markets to fall. Yet neither of these developments should have had any impact on fuel prices in Poland.
Most oil prices are contracted many months in advance, and those that are not ordered will arrive only after many weeks. So what has actually become more expensive? Orlen’s wholesale margin—and with it the VAT calculated on top of that margin. Orlen has profited, and the state budget has profited as well.
Current prices are expected to fall because Orlen has lowered its margin, but not the wholesale margin—only the retail margin for filling stations. This hits hard those who buy fuel from Orlen in wholesale quantities. Tusk and the Orlen subordinated to him are improving their financial condition first at the expense of retail customers—meaning all of us—and now at the expense of station owners.
But the blame lies with that Donald. Never this one.

“Nationalist President.” German Media Continue to Attack Karol Nawrocki
For several days, President Karol Nawrocki’s decision to veto the law concerning the SAFE program has been one of the main topics discussed in the media, including abroad. German outlets continue to attack the Polish head of state, describing Nawrocki as a “nationalist.”
On Thursday, President Karol Nawrocki announced his decision to veto the law concerning the EU SAFE loan. The president’s veto triggered reactions from the entire ruling camp. Prime Minister Donald Tusk convened an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers, during which the government effectively adopted a resolution regarding SAFE. The officials responsible for signing the agreements are Finance Minister Andrzej Domański and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
Both the president’s camp and the opposition warn that implementing the SAFE program through a resolution of the Council of Ministers is not in accordance with the law. There are many indications that Donald Tusk’s cabinet does not intend to stop.
“Nawrocki Harms the Government”
Since President Nawrocki announced his decision on SAFE, a storm of reactions has erupted in the media — including abroad. Recently, we reported on how French media commented on the issue.
Now we have taken a look at the German press. In the newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, a commentary on the Polish president’s decision was titled “Poland’s Weakness.” The author, Reinhard Veser, writes:
“Poland does not carry the weight in Europe that it should have given its size, economic and military strength, and its location on the eastern flank of the EU and NATO.”
In his view, the Polish president’s veto of the law concerning the EU SAFE loan “once again showed why this is the case.” He goes on to claim that the Polish right “constantly weakens the country’s position in the EU and NATO, driven by a mixture of national narrow-mindedness and a lack of scruples in domestic politics.”
He also accuses the Law and Justice party (PiS), which governed Poland between 2015 and 2023, of insulting its “partners.” There was also a jab at President Nawrocki himself. The German journalist claims that Karol Nawrocki “continues this policy by blocking Donald Tusk’s pro-European government wherever possible.”
“To harm the government, Nawrocki is striking at a program that, according to Polish military officials, is urgently needed for Poland to obtain the capability to defend itself against Russia,” Veser concludes.
A similar tone can be found in commentary from the website of the public broadcaster ARD:
“The dispute over SAFE is symptomatic of the front line that has run through Warsaw since Nawrocki was elected president in 2025. An important EU and NATO country is not speaking with one voice on strategic matters.”
“Pro-European Government” vs. “Nationalist President”
The article published by Die Welt begins in an even more striking tone. Karol Nawrocki is described there as a “nationalist president.”
“Despite the veto by the nationalist President Karol Nawrocki, the Polish government wants to ensure that the armed forces will be modernized through the EU’s multi-billion-euro program,” the article reads.
The newspaper also repeats the narrative of the Polish government, which intends to push through the EU loan by means of a government resolution.
“The government of Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on Friday that it will ensure that SAFE funds reach Poland, albeit through more complex regulations. ‘The president’s veto will not stop us,’ Tusk said,” the paper quotes.

Revealed: Businessman Accused of Running a “Waste Mafia” Becomes Operator of Poland’s Deposit-Return System
A few days ago, a decision by the Polish Ministry of Climate and Environment introduced the eighth operator of the national deposit-return system to the market — the company Ecokaucja Polska S.A. It turns out that the entity is headed by Piotr R., while its sole shareholder is his company Polcopper. The businessman until recently was in custody facing serious charges of leading a so-called “waste mafia” — an organized criminal group allegedly committing environmental crimes related to the trade in waste, including materials classified as particularly hazardous, carcinogenic, toxic, and harmful to the environment.
A few days ago, the Ministry of Climate and Environment granted a permit to operate a deposit-return system to yet another entity. The license went to Ecokaucja Polska S.A., a Poznań-based company with share capital of 5 million złoty.
Data from the National Court Register clearly shows that Piotr R. serves as the president of the management board of Ecokaucja. The operator’s sole shareholder is Polcopper — a well-known recycling and scrap-trading giant in the Greater Poland region, founded and owned by R. and his family.
The fact that this entity has been allowed to handle hundreds of millions of złoty within the state deposit-return system raises serious concerns. Piotr R. is a figure at the center of one of the country’s largest environmental investigations.
On October 1, 2025, the businessman was arrested by police in connection with an investigation into the so-called “waste mafia.” The investigation is being conducted by the National Prosecutor’s Office, which charged the president of Ecokaucja with leading an organized criminal group whose purpose was to commit environmental crimes related to the trade in waste — including substances with particularly dangerous, carcinogenic, toxic, and environmentally harmful properties. The multi-threaded investigation covers the group’s activities from January 2020 to September 2025.
After hearing the charges, R. — the former president of the speedway club Fogo Unia Leszno — was placed in pre-trial detention, where he spent a total of four months. He was released only at the beginning of February this year following a decision by the Court of Appeal in Łódź.
Preventive measures were imposed on the businessman after his release: he was banned from leaving the country and ordered to report to a police station as many as five times a week. Last month, National Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson prosecutor Katarzyna Calów-Jaszewska commented on the decision to release the businessman from custody:
“The court concluded that preventive measures are sufficient at this stage of the investigation,” she said, adding that the court’s ruling based on the collected evidence indicates that “there is a high risk that Piotr R. may commit an offense.”
Most controversial of all is the fact that the formal decision of the Ministry of Climate and Environment granting Ecokaucja Polska a license was issued on January 28, 2026. This means the ministry granted a state license to the company at a time when its president was still in custody facing charges of running a “waste mafia.”
The deposit-return system, which has been operating since last year, has been struggling with organizational chaos for months. Despite assurances from Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Anita Sowińska, Poles complain about malfunctioning and overloaded return machines.
“There are also elements of the system that are already counting losses. Local governments are drawing their own conclusions. For them, the deposit system means losing the most valuable raw materials that could otherwise have been recycled. Until now, waste-sorting plants — built at enormous cost — automatically separated those products that could later be sold,” writes Jacek Liziniewicz in the latest issue of Gazeta Polska.
The rules of the system operating in Poland since autumn 2025 are simple: the customer pays a deposit in the store, and if they do not return the bottle or can, the money remains with the operators to cover, among other things, their own costs and administrative expenses. The ministry itself confirms this mechanism, explaining:
“Unclaimed deposits will go to the system operator and will be used to finance the system.”

They Entered the Apartment for a Photo — No One Noticed the Body in the Bathroom
74-year-old Stanisława Szczęsna from Wrocław disappeared in 2023. Her body was not discovered until December 2025 — in the bathroom of her own apartment. The family says they repeatedly asked for the flat to be checked. Prosecutors have launched an investigation into involuntary manslaughter. Yet in this case there are still more questions than answers.
It is one of those cases that is difficult to comprehend. A 74-year-old woman suddenly disappears. Her family reports her missing. Someone enters her apartment to retrieve a photograph needed for a missing-person notice. A year passes, then two. Only when a cleaning company arrives to empty the apartment is the body discovered — in the bathroom.
The case gained nationwide attention because Stanisława Szczęsna was privately the godmother of Tomasz Komenda, who was wrongfully convicted in the Miłoszyce murder case.
A Disappearance That Was Never Fully Checked
Stanisława Szczęsna lived in Wrocław. Neighbors last saw her about a year and a half before the police notice about her disappearance was published. Notably, that notice still remains on the website of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Wrocław.
The woman’s son officially reported her missing in May 2025. He had not been in contact with her for years. When a photograph was needed for the police search announcement, he entered the apartment together with the building administrator. Inside they saw an inhaler, documents, and money — items an elderly person would be unlikely to leave behind when going out for a longer time. He wanted to look around further but, as he claims, was told to “leave immediately.”
Stanisława Szczęsna’s body was eventually found in December 2025 by a cleaning company tasked with clearing the apartment. The woman was lying in the bathroom. For more than two years, no one had looked there.
Prosecutors Investigate — But Not the Police
The District Prosecutor’s Office for Wrocław Stare Miasto is conducting preparatory proceedings in the case.
“In the matter of involuntary manslaughter of an unidentified woman who, after obtaining an opinion from the Forensic Genetics Laboratory of the Molecular Techniques Department in Wrocław, was identified as Ms. Stanisława Szczęsna. At present, we are awaiting an opinion from the Department of Forensic Medicine of the Piast Silesian Medical University in Wrocław. Due to the current stage of the proceedings and in the interest of the investigation, it is not possible to provide further information at this time,” prosecutor Damian Pownuk told Niezalezna.pl.
Prosecutor Pownuk also added that the issue of whether police officers properly fulfilled their duties is not part of the current proceedings.
How is it possible that when police received a report about the disappearance of an elderly woman — whom neighbors had not seen for a year and a half — they did not check her apartment? How is it possible that several people entered the flat — the son, the administrator — and no one looked into the bathroom? For now, these questions remain unanswered.
The case of Stanisława Szczęsna reveals a deeper problem: what happens to missing-person reports involving elderly individuals living alone, especially those whose families have had little contact with them for years? Who verifies whether search procedures were actually implemented? The prosecutor’s office remains silent, citing the interest of the investigation. The question of potential police responsibility remains — at least for now — outside the scope of the formal proceedings concerning the death of Ms. Stanisława.

Defense Sought to Seal Evidence in the Murder Case of Charlie Kirk
Judge Tony Graf Jr. rejected a motion by the defense of Tyler Robinson to restrict public access to certain court documents and partially close hearings, arguing that the public’s right to transparency outweighs concerns about selecting an impartial jury in the case concerning the September 2025 murder of Charlie Kirk. The 22-year-old defendant faces the death penalty.
On Friday, March 13, 2026, a hearing was held at the 4th District Court in Provo regarding a motion filed by the defense of Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old accused of the attack and murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The tragic incident occurred on September 10, 2025, on the campus of Utah Valley University in Orem, where Kirk was speaking at a Turning Point USA event attended by about 3,000 people. Robinson allegedly fired a single shot from the roof of a building approximately 130–140 meters away, striking Kirk in the neck; the victim died shortly afterward in the hospital.
The defense requested that part of the evidence be sealed and that certain segments of the hearing scheduled for April 17, 2026 be closed to the media. They argued that the case’s extreme media exposure — including what they described as “relentless and biased” press coverage and statements by officials — would make it impossible to select an impartial jury. Attorney Visser emphasized that publishing preliminary evidence could “cement opinions” about her client’s guilt or innocence regardless of its actual content. The defense plans to present a compilation of the “most egregious” examples of harmful publicity at the April hearing, including alleged privacy violations and media inaccuracies.
Judge Tony Graf Jr. rejected the request, stating that the defendant had not provided sufficient grounds for the principle of openness to yield to concerns about a fair trial. He cited rulings of the Utah Supreme Court indicating that in high-profile cases juror impartiality can be ensured through extensive voir dire, detailed questionnaires, and thorough questioning of potential jurors. Graf also stressed the public’s presumptive right to access court proceedings.
Additionally, the judge refused to ban cameras from the hearing, although he ordered the defense to submit by March 30 a redacted version of its motion seeking to exclude electronic media. Prosecutors defended transparency, emphasizing that their client is the citizens of the state of Utah — not the media — though the public interest in openness remains crucial.
Robinson appeared at the hearing wearing a blue shirt and tie, taking notes. He is charged with aggravated murder and faces the death penalty, which prosecutors have announced they will seek if he is convicted. He has pleaded not guilty. The next hearing on the issue of cameras is scheduled for April 17, while a preliminary evidentiary hearing is set for May 18–20, 2026.
The case has sparked enormous emotions in the United States due to the profile of the victim — Charlie Kirk was a prominent ally of Donald Trump and a mobilizer of young conservatives. The defense had previously unsuccessfully attempted to disqualify the county prosecutor’s office due to an alleged conflict of interest...

“This Is an Unfair German Payday Loan.” Czarnek Speaks Strongly About the SAFE Loan
Power will change hands soon — and anyone who attempts to replace a statute with a government resolution and on that basis take out a German loan that indebts Poland will be held accountable before the courts — said Przemysław Czarnek, a Law and Justice (PiS) MP and the party’s candidate for prime minister, in the program “Gość Dzisiaj” on TV Republika. The politician was commenting on statements from representatives of the December 13 coalition suggesting that the SAFE loan would be taken despite the veto of President Karol Nawrocki.
SAFE law vetoed
President of Poland Karol Nawrocki announced that he would not sign the law concerning the EU SAFE loan.
“I will never sign a law that undermines our sovereignty, independence, economic security, and military security. At this point, I warn that any attempts to indebt our country abroad in an unlawful manner, through the back door, will sooner or later meet with both political and legal responsibility,” the head of state explained.
Przemysław Czarnek, a PiS MP and the party’s candidate for prime minister, was asked about this decision in the program “Gość Dzisiaj” on TV Republika.
“I am not surprised. We have patriots in the Presidential Chancellery. The nation elected President Nawrocki to protect Polish independence and sovereignty in the long term. The president appointed his ministers, led by Minister Zbigniew Bogucki, precisely to safeguard this most important aspect — independence — regardless of pressure. And the pressure is enormous. The blackmail is extraordinary,” he said.
He recalled that “Brussels is proposing an unfair German payday loan for something we do not entirely need, on terms that are completely unknown to us and which we would additionally have to negotiate with Ukraine — something that was supposed to bind us for 55 years.”
He added that “the president, together with the president of the National Bank of Poland, prepared the Polish program ‘Sejf 0 percent’ without any debt.”
In his view, “we cannot allow the loss of sovereignty, a spiked leash that people in Brussels could pull whenever they wish. We cannot allow the constitution to be violated.”
“The SAFE law is a violation of the Polish constitution and would place the Polish Armed Forces under Ms. von der Leyen — in other words, under Germany. I am glad that things turned out the way they did,” he stressed.
He then addressed members of the Polish People’s Party (PSL) and Poland 2050.
“I appeal to colleagues from PSL and Poland 2050, and especially to Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz, who says he is a patriot. If you want to rapidly arm the army, you must immediately force the governing majority to proceed with the president’s bill on the Polish ‘Sejf 0 percent.’ Today everything is in the hands of those who must stop being Donald Tusk’s pushovers,” he said.
He also emphasized that “power will change hands soon — and anyone who tries to replace a statute with a resolution and on that basis take out a German loan that indebts Poland will be held accountable before the courts.”

Nawrocki Refuses to Sign SAFE Loan Bill — Tusk and Deputy PMs Announce “Plan B”
Is the government planning to introduce the EU’s SAFE mechanism “through the back door”? This appears to follow from statements made by deputy prime ministers and Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Earlier, President Karol Nawrocki, announcing that he would not sign the law implementing the loan, warned that such attempts would “sooner or later face both political and legal consequences.”
On Thursday, President Karol Nawrocki delivered a televised address in which he announced his decision regarding the EU defense loan.
“Taking all of this into account, I have decided that I will not sign the law that allows Poland to take out the SAFE loan. I will never sign a law that undermines our sovereignty, independence, economic security, and military security,” he said, emphasizing:
“At this point I warn that any attempts to indebting our country abroad in an unlawful manner, through the back door, will sooner or later meet with both political and legal responsibility.”
It appears that the president’s warning does not concern those currently in power. In a post criticizing Karol Nawrocki’s decision, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz spoke about a “Plan B.”
“We will implement Plan B, because this is what Poland’s national interest requires. Especially at a time when new wars and new threats are emerging around the world. We cannot remain passive and rely on imaginary profits and creative accounting that will not strengthen our army. We have no time to wait or for empty promises,” he stated.
Another deputy prime minister, Minister of Digital Affairs Krzysztof Gawkowski, spoke in a similar tone.
“We will not give up actions aimed at strengthening the country’s security. The Polish army, Polish technology companies, and the Polish defense industry will receive the government’s support. The October 15 Coalition will ensure the development of the army and the Polish defense industry regardless of how much destruction the president tries to cause,” he wrote.
Finally, the head of government, Donald Tusk, also announced a response plan.
“The president has lost the chance to behave like a patriot. Shame! Tomorrow at 9 a.m. the Polish government will present its response during an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers,” he said.
Among those reacting to the prime minister’s post was his predecessor, Mateusz Morawiecki.

Radosław Sikorski Pushes for SAFE With Bizarre Proposal: “Put a Plaque on Every Rifle”
Radosław Sikorski clearly cannot come to terms with President Karol Nawrocki’s refusal to agree to saddling future generations with European debt for armaments under the SAFE program. “I will propose placing a plaque on every rifle, tank, artillery piece, drone and anti-drone system reading: ‘Dear soldier of the Polish Armed Forces, this is something Karol Nawrocki did not want to give you,’” Sikorski announced on X. However, the foreign minister may not have fully considered the reactions his idea would provoke.
The government side cannot forgive President Karol Nawrocki and the president of the National Bank of Poland, Prof. Adam Glapiński, for refusing to obediently agree to the SAFE defense loan promoted by the European Union—considered extremely unfavorable for Poland—and instead developing and proposing their own method of financing armaments in the form of the “SEJF 0%” program.
Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski vented his frustration in an emotional post on the social media platform X.
“If the President vetoes SAFE and we implement it anyway through the Armed Forces Support Fund, I will propose that every rifle, tank, artillery piece, drone and anti-drone system carry a plaque saying: ‘Dear soldier of the Polish Armed Forces, this is something Karol Nawrocki did not want to give you,’” Sikorski wrote.
And with that, he unleashed a storm of mocking comments.
“Go ahead and stick WOŚP heart stickers on them,” joked Confederation MP Witold Tumanowicz.
“Such statements are simply destructive to the army’s morale. The debate is not about whether to buy equipment, but how to pay for it and where the money should come from. Instead of a substantive discussion, the deputy prime minister is threatening to incite soldiers against the Commander-in-Chief,” protested Jerzy Kwaśniewski, head of the Ordo Iuris institute.
Michał Cichy from Confederation also did not hide his disgust, writing about “crossing the boundaries of embarrassment.”
Many readers considered Sikorski’s post childish and harmful.

On December 8, 2025, a cleaning crew entered Stanisława S.’s apartment to prepare it for a new tenant. While cleaning, workers found the woman’s mummified body in the bathroom, next to the bathtub.
The family is shocked that earlier — despite several entries into the apartment — no one noticed the body. Relatives also point to the disappearance of documents, money, and jewelry belonging to the deceased.
Grzegorz, the woman’s son, claims he was not allowed into the apartment and was not given information about the items that had been inside. According to him, no inventory report listing his mother’s belongings was prepared.
“When I asked where the report listing my mother’s belongings was, I was told there wasn’t one. I cannot find out what happened to the family keepsakes. There was always some money at home, my mother wore gold jewelry — a chain with a medallion and rings,” he told Gazeta Wyborcza.
Neighbors Noticed the Disappearance
The first signals that something might have happened to the woman came from neighbors. The ailing senior rarely left her home, but in the spring of 2024 no one had seen her for many months.
The family only learned about the situation a year later, when the housing administration began actions related to rent arrears and a planned eviction. A notice about a planned “official entry” into the apartment was posted on the door. Initially, the police did not want to accept a missing-person report. It was only accepted in May last year.
What Do the Municipal Housing Authority and Police Say?
The Municipal Housing Authority stated that it had no knowledge that a missing person might have been inside the apartment. The police, in turn, explained that during earlier official openings of the premises they did not come across the body, which is why no additional inspection was carried out.
