CBZC uncovers fake flood relief fundraisers. Stay safe by using verified sites and avoiding phishing scams.
The Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime (CBZC) has uncovered 63 fraudulent flood relief fundraisers, according to Police Headquarters spokesperson, Katarzyna Nowak.
CBZC’s Ongoing Investigation
CBZC is actively verifying online fundraisers for flood victims and investigating any suspicious campaigns. Authorities urge the public to report potential scams.
To avoid falling victim to fraud, CBZC advises using verified fundraisers listed on the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ official portal, www.zbiorki.gov.pl.
Beware of Phishing Scams
The CBZC warns against fake messages posing as alerts from the Government Security Center (RCB), reminding users that legitimate RCB alerts never contain links.
Cybercriminals are also attempting to hijack social media accounts through alarming posts featuring photos of children or animals in danger, tricking users into entering sensitive data.
