The Ministry of Digital Affairs will co-fund the EuroQCS-Poland quantum computer, to be installed at the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center (PCSS) by mid-2025. This collaboration with EuroHPC JU aims to advance quantum technology in Poland.
Cutting-edge Technology for Science, Industry, and Public Sector
The new ion trap-based quantum computer will primarily serve scientists, industry leaders, and the public sector across Europe. It will enhance applications in quantum optimization, chemistry, material research, and machine learning.
Boosting European Supercomputing Infrastructure
Integrated with a classical supercomputer, this hybrid system will strengthen Europe’s supercomputing capabilities. The PCSS, affiliated with the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, will lead the consortium for hardware and software integration, including partners like the Centre for Theoretical Physics PAS, Creotech Instruments S.A., and the University of Latvia.
Towards a Better Future
Starting operations in mid-2025, this quantum computer will position Poland as a leader in quantum technology, enhancing health, data security, and solving complex problems, paving the way for a better future.
