Opole will host the 33rd International Music Course from August 1st to 12th. The course is set to be a significant cultural event in the city, attracting students and scholars from around the world specializing in violin, piano, viola, cello, double bass, and chamber ensembles.

Participants will have the opportunity to enhance their skills and work on interpreting prepared musical compositions. In addition to their musical pursuits, they will engage in collaborative performances, discussions, and social activities, fostering a tightly-knit community with their instructors.

Once again, the sounds of young musicians will resonate across the Opole Castle Pond as part of the Chamber Orchestra formed specifically for the course. These talented individuals will showcase their musical prowess, creating an enchanting ambiance in the heart of Opole. The International Music Courses are a joint effort between Jerzy Heller, a prominent figure in the Opole music scene and longtime director of the local music school, and Tomasz Tomaszewski, a Berlin-based concertmaster at the German Opera and professor at the Berlin University of the Arts, who has been the artistic director of the courses since their inception.

Renowned music educators from Poland and other countries are invited to collaborate and share their expertise during the course. The event also includes several concerts featuring outstanding participants. These performances take place in Opole as well as in nearby towns such as Głuchołazy, Moszna, Brzeg, and Kamień Śląski.

The Jerzy Heller International Music Courses, named in honor of the late Jerzy Heller, who passed away in 1992, are organized by the International Music Course Society, established in 2011, in close collaboration with the Fryderyk Chopin State Music School of the First and Second Degree in Opole.

The International Music Course in Opole has become a highly anticipated event among music enthusiasts worldwide, attracting aspiring musicians and experienced performers alike. This celebration of music and talent promises to be a captivating experience for all involved, further enhancing Opole’s reputation as a hub of musical excellence.
