“I envision a normal Poland, free from foreign ideologies that exert pressure on our children’s schools, on our farms, on our forests, and our social economy,” emphasized Karol Nawrocki, the presidential candidate supported by the Law and Justice party (PiS), during an appearance on Kanal Zero. He added: “My Poland is both a safe Poland and a prosperous one—a Poland with grand dreams and plans.”
Vision for Poland
Karol Nawrocki appeared on the online platform Kanal Zero. During the interview, conducted by fellow presidential candidate Krzysztof Stanowski, he was asked to elaborate on his vision for the country.
“I see a normal Poland, without foreign ideologies that truly place pressure on our children’s schools, on our farms, on our forests, and on our social economy,”
Nawrocki stated.
The presidential candidate also criticized the current government. He noted that the public is not closely following the state of public finances, “because both commercial and state-run television can find experts and professors who will sit down and proclaim that the condition of the Polish state is excellent.”
He added that, during meetings with voters, “everyone says things are expensive.” He emphasized that one of his policy proposals is to establish “a welfare state with zero VAT on food.”
“I also envision an ambitious, developing Poland—one with major projects, aspirational endeavours, Polish nuclear energy, and a Solidarity Transport Hub (CPK) as it was originally intended to be. My Poland is both a safe Poland and a prosperous one, but above all, a normal Poland—one with great dreams and plans,”
Nawrocki elaborated.
Plan for the Presidential Term
When asked where the funding for the proposed investments would come from, particularly in the context of planned tax reductions, Nawrocki responded that “this is, of course, a five-year plan for the term in office.” He continued, “It is a written vision for Poland that reflects a certain emotional and social sensitivity—not only that of the candidate himself but also of the public—since I created this program together with the Polish people.”
“We have become accustomed to the idea that when we vote for Donald Tusk, VAT fraud rings inevitably follow, along with a VAT gap—which, however, we managed to eliminate before October 15, 2023. That’s PLN 45 billion that was either taken abroad or simply stolen by VAT mafias. And if we consider that we have 45 billion złoty—which constitutes the seventh point of my tax contract—we can see that the promises outlined in the remaining six points can, in fact, be fulfilled,”
he declared.
According to Nawrocki, “We, as the Polish nation, cannot afford to stop aiming high, to stop looking upward.” He stressed, “Given our geopolitical position, we must always remain ambitious, strive toward grand plans, and continue developing—because otherwise, we will disappear.”
Presidential Election
The presidential election is scheduled to take place on May 18. Should a second round be necessary, it will be held on June 1.
