Opposition in Poland pushes for the withdrawal of the veto

The opposition parties in Poland continue to push for a change of the government’s attitude and withdrawal of the intention to veto the EU budget. According to the head of the Civic Platform party, Borys Budka, opposing the Union’s budget plan would result in Poland receiving no funds for investments from the EU.

“I am under the impression that everything that is happening around the European budget negotiations is the fault of people who don’t want a strong Poland in the European Union. Instead, they want to blow apart the European Union from the inside. Two countries cannot cope with the rule of law today, Poland and Hungary, but it may turn out that the final budget will only be vetoed by Poland. Once again, I appeal to Prime Minister Morawiecki, change your attitude.” stated the leader of the opposition, Borys Budka.
