    Court ready for remote hearings

    The District Court in Olsztyn and its subordinate district courts are ready to conduct hearings and court hearings at a distance,” Olgierd Dąbrowski-Żegalski, spokesman for the district court said. He assured that the courts had appropriate hardware and software.

    The management of the District Court in Olsztyn is closely monitoring the development of the coronavirus epidemic and taking actions on an ongoing basis to ensure the uninterrupted and safe activities of this institution.

    “For the sake of the health of employees and court parties, the first remote meetings were launched at the beginning of April this year,” explained judge Olgierd Dąbrowski-Żegalski.

    He indicated that so far they have been carried out only in penitentiary cases (concerning mainly persons serving a sentence of imprisonment), using an encrypted internet connection with prisons.

    He emphasized that the applied solution is easy to use and that the participant does not need to download or install any software in advance, because the program runs in a web browser.
