B-girl Logistx (USA) and Amir (Kazahstan) became the new Red Bull BC One World Champions during the grand final, which for the first time took place in Poland, in Ergo Arena in Gdansk. This historic edition was co-created by Polish dancers - b-boy Thomaz and b-girl Paulina representing our country in the grand final thanks to the wild cards granted to them.
In the first round, Thomaz came up against Flea Rock and had to acknowledge his superiority. The American, in turn, reached the semifinals. B-girl Paulina after advancing to Top8 faced b-girl Vavi who proved to be better.
"I lost by one vote, by a whisker. I would have liked to have gone further, but I am happy with where I got to and how I performed," said Paulina.
The Russian advanced to the final, but her b-girl Logistx stood in her way. For the U.S. representative, it was her second appearance at the Red Bull BC One World Finals (she debuted in it in 2019 in India).
"It's like a dream. It has always been my dream to win the Red Bull BC One final. And I want to say to all of you who are watching me right now: you too can win in your life. You just have to really believe in it," Logistx said with emotion.
Her words perfectly sum up b-boy Amir's way to the Red Bull BC One World Final in Gdańsk. Just two days earlier, he had qualified for the top 16 as a national winner and reached for the championship belt in his debut, an unprecedented event.
"I'm hungry for battles and victories, I can feel the energy in my body. I'm glad I could show it on stage," he said after the finale.
One of the votes cast for him in the final came from Polish dancer and judge, b-boy Klej, who made no secret of his pride that Red Bull BC One was hosted in Gdańsk.
"It was truly a world final. Not just because of the participation of so many dancers. Simply worldly. We can be proud that in Poland there is such a >>hype<< for breaking, there is such an energy," he said.
