The Polish national team returns home from the European Women’s Boxing Championships with three silver medals. The closest to the title in Montenegro’s Budva was Martyna Jancelewicz, who lost 2:3 to Lithuanian Gabriele Stonkute in the 81kg category.

In the 66 kg weight class at the European women’s boxing championships, Aneta Rygielska presented herself well. The fighter lost 1:4 to Germany’s Stefanie von Berge.
“It was the first time I boxed with this German woman. It seems to me that it was the first time in this weight class, and I’ve been competing in it for less than a year, that I fought such a tall and good fighter. My mistakes crept into the duel, which will have to be analyzed. I believe that I have made very big progress since the World Championships, from which only six months have passed,” Rygielska said.
Rygielska repeated her success from 2019, when in Alcobendas she also became European vice-champion, but in the 64 kg weight category. At that time in Spain, Elzbieta Wojcik stood on the second step of the podium. On Saturday, just like three years ago, the 26-year-old Elżbieta Wójcik was defeated by Ireland’s Aoife O’Rourke 0:5 in the decisive fight.
