The delivery of masks to Italy will soon be realised without problems – the Italian embassy in Poland reported today. In a post on Twitter the embassy also thanked the Polish authorities for cooperation in difficult moments for Italy.
On Saturday, the Italian agency Ansa reported that the authorities of the Italian region of Lazio protested against the detention by the Polish customs services of 23,000 protective masks bought in Poland in connection with the epidemiological crisis. Since Sunday, the Polish authorities and the Polish embassy in Italy have denied this information, describing it as “fake news”. The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs officially denied the reports given by the Ansa agency about blocking any transport of masks from Poland to Italy. “We sympathise with the Italian people and support them in this difficult period. We recommend caution to everyone when using unverified sources of information”, the Foreign Ministry wrote on Twitter. Information about the blockade of transport was also denied by the Italian embassy in Poland.
