Underlining Poland’s recognition as a solid food supplier in the EU and global markets, Kołakowski emphasized the potential of Poland’s diverse agri-food sector to meet Singapore’s food needs, particularly amid the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Expanding Export Portfolio
Secretary of State Lech Kołakowski proposed expanding the range of exports to Singapore to include beef, with efforts initiated in 2017. Ambassador Loo Choon Yong commended the quality of Polish food and welcomed Polish entrepreneurs’ presence in the Singaporean market, signaling substantial opportunities to strengthen trade ties, considering Singapore’s ASEAN membership.
Robust Trade Dynamics
In 2022, Poland exported €60 million worth of food to Singapore, with flour, meal, meat and offal granules, fish, and bird eggs ranking as the top export items.
