Popular Destinations and Airlines
The airport, serving as a hub for airlines such as Wizz Air, Ryanair, PLL LOT, and Air Dolomiti, saw the highest demand for flights to destinations including Dortmund, London-Luton, London-Stansted, Catania, and Milan-Bergamo.
Charter Flights Experience Substantial Growth
Charter flights also experienced a substantial uptick, accommodating 111.3 thousand passengers, a 36.3% increase from the previous year. Top charter destinations included Hurghada, Antalya, Marsa Alam, Sharm El Sheikh, and Fuerteventura.
Continuous Expansion and Future Projections
With a total of 1.283 million passengers from January to April 2024, Katowice Airport is on track to surpass its annual target of 6 million passengers. Plans for a new main passenger terminal are underway, expected to be completed by 2028-2029, further facilitating the airport’s growth.
