The conflict on the border is a 'cynical ploy to exhaust our soldiers'

The Spokesman for the Minister-Coordinator of Special Services, Stanisław Żaryn, admitted that NATO and EU structures are beginning to see more and more of what is happening on our border with Belarus. At the same time, he admitted that the conflict on the Polish-Belarusian border is starting to be a conflict calculated for a long time. “It could also mean a cynical game to wear out our soldiers and officers,” Żaryn says.

“We also see that more and more countries, for example in the Middle East, notice the actions of the Belarusian regime. So, we expect that it may be possible to reduce the flow of migrants to Belarus,” a spokesman for the Minister-Coordinator of Special Services said.

However, as he cautioned, “this does not change the fact that the Lukashenko regime is still interested in acquiring new migration routes and new directions to ensure further waves of migration”.

“We are entering a phase of conflict when each day begins to look alike. We are still dealing with repeated attacks by groups of foreigners supported by Belarusian services. We can see that this conflict is beginning to be a conflict estimated to last for a decidedly long time,” Żaryn assessed.

Żaryn pointed out that the Belarusian regime is creating “a kind of accommodation base for migrants around the logistic centre in Bruzgi near Kuźnica, which is on the Polish side, to carry out actions destabilizing our border based on such a base”. He pointed out that “all the facilities, including catering” are being built around this base.

“The infrastructure is being prepared to keep these people there for a long time,” Żaryn pointed out.

Another thing that raises concern, according to Żaryn, is the increasing aggression of state propaganda from Belarus and Russia.

“It begins not only by blaming Poland for this border crisis, but also is presenting Poland as a country that destabilises the situation in Europe and NATO and was responsible for many conflicts throughout history,” Żaryn said.

According to him, this is to lead “to a narrative that further escalation of the conflict may be Poland’s fault”.
