EuroSkills 2023 takes place in Poland. The cause: Russian aggression against Ukraine

The Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawicki announced that EuroSkills 2023 would take place in Poland next year. This event – called the Olympic Games of Industry Competitions – was moved from St. Petersburg to our country due to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

EuroSkills 2023 is an international competition for all professional skills – from robotics and state-of-the-art computer technologies to cooking and construction. It is held alternatively with the WorldSkills event that takes place every other year, and representatives from 85 countries take part in the competitions.

“This is good news for Poland, as international public relations are extremely effective. These cyclical meetings are also a driving force for economic, sectoral and social development and an excellent tool for companies to train qualified workers and establish business contacts around the world,” Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki wrote on Facebook.

As part of the EuroSkills, around 600 athletes and 500 top experts will compete in 50 disciplines in 2023. “We are also expecting about 100,000 spectators – including government delegations from 30 countries – and I am looking forward to seeing the famous Polish hospitality,” added the Prime Minister.
