Volleyball Nations League: Poland defeated Brazil! [VIDEO]

Three of the four sets were dictated by the Polish representatives. Although the Brazilians came back to the game in the last part, they could not make up for all the losses. It was the fourth victory in this edition of the Nations League for the Polish national men’s team.

Coach Nikola Grbić used the tournament in Ottawa for experiments, testing as many as seven debutants. For the second event, experienced players such as Bartosz Kurek, Paweł Zatorski, Mateusz Bieniek and volleyball players of Zaksa Kędzierzyn-Koźle, the Champions League triumpher, returned to the team composition.

The Polish team started beautifully. Nikola Grbic’s players successfully kept the rival at a distance and after an effective block in the last action, they won the first set 25:16.

It was not so easy in the next set. It was a close play at first. Eventually, the Poles did not manage to win the set, and it ended at 1:1.

In the third set, the Poles played very well on the attack. The red-and-white team played effectively and as it was in the first part, the Poles did not allow Brazilians to take the lead (25:16).

Encouraged by a great game in the previous set, the red-and-white team went on the attack and continued their good play. Fortunately, they managed to avoid a nervous ending and eventually won 3:1 in the whole match.

In the next meeting, Poland will play with the Canadian team.

    Poland – Brazil 3:1 (25:16, 22:25, 25:16, 25:22)
