Poland's 18th Festival “Chopin and his Europe” to start on Sunday in Warsaw [VIDEO]

34 concerts are included in the program of the 18th festival “Chopin and his Europe”, which will start on Sunday in Warsaw. This year, the theme of the event will be romanticism. “Without our outstanding composers and musicians from the Romantic era, Poland might not have survived at all,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and National Heritage Piotr Gliński.

“34 concerts this year ladies and gentlemen. Outstanding soloists, outstanding artists and a theme that is a great challenge, very interesting. “Chopin and his Europe” also has precisely such a task, function or goal, to promote these lesser-known things. We all know that the greatest promotion is to teach this to our Western partners and performers because if they start playing it and introducing it into their repertoires, that’s basically what we’re all about. More compositions, this time two new, famous, compositions by Moniuszko will be presented at the festival. Fabio Biondi will once again be the star, but we also have many other stars, Bruce Liu, as well as Kate Liu and many other participants from the last Chopin competition as well,” Prof. Piotr Gliński, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, said.
